Fortune
A Chinese birth chart (BaZi), explained in plain English.
What it does
Give it a birth date and time and it works out the four pillars, the "eight characters" a traditional Chinese reader writes down, and explains each one in ordinary words. The bottom of the page shows exactly how every character was worked out.
How it's built
- One HTML file, all calculation in the browser.
- Solar-term times come from the sun's position and are checked against published almanac tables.
About the demo. Nothing you enter leaves your browser. BaZi is a tradition, not a science; this page explains what the tradition says.
