Central Bank
One page on what the world's central banks are doing with their reserves and gold.

What it does
Reserve and gold moves are published in a dozen places in a dozen formats. Central Bank Watch puts the big ones side by side.
- Reserves by asset class (FX, gold, SDR, IMF position) over three years, summed across the reporting banks.
- The world's FX reserves by currency, from the IMF's COFER data.
- One row per bank: latest reserves, the monthly trend, gold buying or selling, and the latest headline.
- A list of the data releases due today and over the next week.
How it's built
- One HTML file. The figures come straight from the IMF's public data API, with a saved snapshot built in for when the API can't be reached.
- Signals like "a big monthly move" or "stale data" are worked out from the numbers, never typed in by hand. Thresholds are listed on the Notes tab.
- It can save a standalone copy of itself to run offline.
About the demo. There's nothing personal in this one: it uses public statistics. The demo shows the snapshot built into the page and makes no live calls, so figures are as of that snapshot.
